Clutch Power Index (CPI)
A single score for all-around clutch production — a rate, not a volume count. Clutch = 4th quarter or OT, inside 5 minutes, score within 5 points.
CPI = (0.5·PTS + 1.5·AST + 2.0·OReb + 1.0·DReb + 2.0·(STL+BLK) − 3.0·TOV − 1.5·missed FT) ÷ clutch minutes
Other Important Details
- Available from 2013-14 onward.
- Also plots players on a turnovers vs. assists grid into Efficient, High Risk / Reward, Conservative, and Costly quadrants.
