- 1974-75 to 2012-13: 70 games or 2,000 minutes or a counting-stat alternative — e.g. 1,400 total points for the scoring title, 800 rebounds, 400 assists, 125 steals, or 100 blocks.
- Lockout seasons are scaled to the shorter schedule: 1998-99 (50 games) required 43 games or 1,220 minutes; 2011-12 (66 games) required 56 games or 1,610 minutes — with counting-stat alternatives scaled the same way.
- 2019-20 and 2020-21 (COVID-shortened): 58 games or being on pace for 58, with stats prorated to an 82-game season.
- 2013-14 to today: at least 58 games played.
